Child and Youth Health Coordination Service

Cay-C service to end - limited service from 1 October (Waikato)

Waikato DHB has exited the child and youth coordination services (Cay-C) contract, effective 17 December 2018. This includes Before School (B4SC) outreach and the lost to provider service. Due to staff changes both before and after the DHB decision we have limited service operating from 1 October.

What does this mean for your practice?·

  • The B4SC outreach service will be limited to what is provided by the public health nursing team who take referrals for those who are quintile five. You can contact this team through the current referral process. (The B4SC contract remains in place with all its support. For any questions or concerns please contact Michelle Morley, Pinnacle MHN B4SC coordinator.)
  • The lost to provider service will be limited and we will not be able to process referrals at the current speed.

Pinnacle MHN are disappointed at the loss of these services and understand it will impact you in your practice, along with our children and families. We thank our team and yours for all the amazing work that has been done to support our Waikato children to receive all their important milestone checks. We will be closely following further decisions from the DHB on what services may be offered by way of replacement.

We're sure you will have questions and concerns and we're happy to hear those and relay them to the DHB where appropriate. Please contact Tracy Jackson, Pinnacle MHN Starting Well programme lead.
